The Act for Kids Intensive Family Support (IFS) Program works with families who have consented to accept case management support to strengthen their families to keep their children safe. Referrals can be received from all community agencies, health services and education settings and self-referrals.

IFS services can take referrals without consent from the Department of Child Safety and other prescribed entities. Referrals into this service must demonstrate the referred family has multiple and complex needs, has a child/ren under 18, are at risk of entering the child protection system if support is not obtained and would benefit from a case management service. Referrals can be received via Online: https://qld-families-referrals.infoxchangeapps.net.au/

Rockhampton Specialist Therapy Services- Act for Kids is a free therapeutic service that adopts evidence- based interventions to children and young people that have been impacted by unwanted sexual experiences (aged 0 to 18 years) or those who display harmful sexual behaviours (aged 10 to 17 years).

Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of children, young people and their families in Rockhampton, Gracemere, Capricorn Coast and Mt Morgan.

We can help:
Develop responses to unwanted sexual experiences or to those that display harmful sexual behaviours by:
o Providing a safe place to express and process difficult thoughts and feelings
o Giving children and young people the opportunity to explore the impact of their experiences
o Supporting children and young people to develop skills for managing unpleasant physical sensations
o Empowering parents and care givers to help them deal with the complexity of the situation and any challenging behaviours of the child or young person.
