Our Connected Families Program supports families with children and/or young people up to 18 years of age who might be experiencing a range of challenges that are impacting the children and young people in the family in a variety of ways.
Much of the work is done in the family home to make it easier to stay connected. Our practitioners work in the following communities
Connected Families:
Provides a range of support services for families with infants, children and young people 0 to 18 years old who are experiencing a range of challenges.
The program is able to assist with the following areas:
-To improve their family relationships & communication skills;
-Manage child behaviours;
-Manage household routines, maintenance & budgeting;
-Improve their skills for dealing with government departments;
-Encourage social connection & health & well-being; and
-Improve knowledge of & access to community resources.
Family & Relationships Service:
Provides support to strengthen family relationships through counselling and group programs.
Counselling is available for individuals or couples and covers beginning new relationships; improving current relationships; parenting; anxiety; conflict; depression; separation; and anger management (one-on-one).
Family Matters Program:
Provides support and assistance for infants, children and young people 0 to 18 years old who are showing early signs or, who may be at risk of, developing mental health issues.
Information, referral, counselling and support are provided for families as a whole.
Foster & Kinship Care Service:
Coordinates short, medium and long-term foster care for infants, children and young people 0 to 17 years old who are unable to remain with their natural families.
The service also recruits, supports and provides training for foster carers.
