Reconnect Program:
Reconnect is a community-based program supporting young people aged 12 - 18 who are experiencing homelessness/ at risk of becoming homeless or experiencing family conflict, living in Toowoomba & for young people aged 12-21 who are new to the region. Reconnect aims to prevent homelessness by providing accommodation, counselling, mediation and support, with a strong emphasis on family reconciliation and community engagement. Young people either can self-refer, or be referred by anyone with links to the young person including family members; friends; schools; police and youth justice; housing and accommodation services; Centrelink; and other community services.
Going Places Program:
The Going Places service in Toowoomba is a mobile support service for young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. The service applies early intervention approaches to transition young people from homelessness to housing, and support young people to develop the skills to sustain at-risk tenancies and avoid tenancy stress in the long term.
