Queensland Indigenous Family Violence Legal Service (QIFVLS):
Provides a free legal service for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people affected by family or domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
Services include the following:
-Explaining legal rights and responsibilities;
-Information about various options & steps to solve legal problems;
-Court support;
-Referral to free counselling and support services including health, housing and financial advice.
-Information sessions, fact sheets and resources on various areas of law including child protection, domestic and family violence, family law, victims assistance, witness assistance and sexual assault victim support; and
-Community education.
-Queensland Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Legal Unit is endorsed for DGR status.
